Welcome to the official website of Glasgow Student Dance Company. GSDC is a performing company of students from the University of Glasgow. Each year we rehearse during term time, working towards a show in February. A team of choreographers lead the classes, teaching a wide variety of styles to dancers of all abilities.
GUVMA Rodeo 2012
Well done to all the dancers who took part in the Vet School’s Rodeo on Saturday 14th April, and thanks to everyone who came along to watch!
We had a fantastic day out, and a huge £28,000 was raised in total for Riding for the Disabled Association, Canine Partners, SSPCA and the vet school’s own Small Animal Hospital.
PS- like the dancers’ new GSDC t-shirts? Well watch this space ’cause they’ll be available to all soon!
LJMU Freestyler Dance Competition 2012
Apologies for the late update, and a huge well done to all of the team who travelled down to Liverpool to represent GSDC on the 24th March. We brought home…
- 2nd place: Advanced Ballet, Advanced Jazz, Advanced Contemporary
- 3rd Place: Advanced Jazz
- Best Female Dancer: Rachel Kerr
- (Unofficially) Best Banter and (officially) Boat Race Champions!
Congrats to everyone who choreographed, performed and came to cheer us on. A great time was had by all and we sure showed Liverpool how to party!

Show DVDs
DVDs from the Saturday night recording of ‘IGNITE with GSDC’ will be ready soon. These will be priced at £6 each and can be ordered from the committee.

IGNITE is over…
What a weekend!
First of all, well done to all of our dancers and choreographers for making IGNITE our best show yet. Also a massive thank you to our stage manager Alice Crook, Graeme and Kevin at the Mitchell Theatre for doing a fantastic job with lighting and sound, the folks from Glasgow University Student TV who filmed the show and to Stewart Ritchie at poweredByCoffee for producing a beautiful logo, website, flyers and programme cover for us.
Finally, a massive thank you to everyone who came along to cheer us on! Both Friday and Saturday audiences were amazing, and we had an amazing time. Want a lasting memory of the show? Footage is currently being edited and DVDs produced, which will be available in a few weeks. Details on how to order will be on the site when the DVDs are ready.

This year’s show- TICKETS ON SALE NOW
‘IGNITE with Glasgow Student Dance Company’ will be performed at the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th February 2012.
Tickets are £7 (£5 students) and are available from committee members. Alternatively, email gsdc@live.com to reserve tickets.
